An Irish gaelic Funeral Prayer

Expiry is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have but slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The former life that we lived so fondly together
is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the piece of cake way which yous always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as nosotros always laughed at the piddling jokes that
nosotros enjoyed together.
Play, grinning, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without endeavor
Life means all that information technology always meant.
It is the aforementioned equally it ever was.
At that place is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of heed because
I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near, just effectually the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
I brief moment and all volition be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of departing,
when nosotros see once again.

From Saint Patricks Breastplate:

Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of cosmos.

I ascend today
Through the strength of Christs
birth with His baptism,
Through the strength of His crucifixion
with His burial,
Through the strength of His resurrection

In the obedience of angels,
In the service of archangels,
In the hope of resurrection to come across
with reward,
In the prayers of patriarchs,
In the predictions of prophets,
In the preaching of apostles,
In the faith of confessors,
In the innocence of holy virgins,
In the deeds of righteous men.

I ascend today, through
The strength of heaven,
The low-cal of the dominicus,
The radiance of the moon,
The splendor of fire,
The speed of lightning,
The swiftness of wind,
The depth of the ocean,
The stability of the earth,
The firmness of rock.

I arise today, through
Gods strength to pilot me,
Gods might to uphold me,
Gods wisdom to guide me,
Goddue south eye to await before me,
Gods ear to hear me,
Goddue south word to speak for me,
Gods hand to guard me,
Gods shield to protect me,
Gods host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptation of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
distant and near.

I summon today
All these powers betwixt me and
those evils,
Against every cruel and merciless power
that may oppose my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom,
Against faux laws of heretics,
Confronting craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths
and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts
mans body and soul;
Christ to shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Confronting drowning, against wounding,
So that in that location may come to me an
abundance of reward.

Christ with me,
Christ earlier me,

Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,

I arise today
Through a mighty strength,

Through belief in the Threeness,
Through confession of the Oneness
of the Creator of creation.
